Marilyn Fogle Seymour

Marilyn Fogle Seymour, of Sun Prairie, WI, passed away on December 17, 2023, at the age of 87.


Marilyn is the daughter of Ernest and Bertha (Fenton) Patterson. She grew up in Trenton, MO where she graduated from Trenton High School in 1954. She attended nursing school at Research Hospital in Kansas City, MO, graduating in 1958. She worked as a registered nurse at Research Hospital and became a nursing instructor.


Marilyn was united in marriage to Paul Fogle on December 18, 1959, in Kansas City, MO. They had two children, Kimberly Ann and Gregory Todd. They remained married until his death in 1983 in Ottawa, Kansas. In 1990, Marilyn married Bill Seymour and they lived in Ottawa until his death in 2010. That same year, Marilyn relocated to Cedarburg, WI to live near her daughter. In May of this year she moved to Sun Prairie, WI.


Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Kim (Randy) Roupp of Sun Prairie, WI, and her son, Greg (Laura) Fogle of Bella Vista, AR. She will also be missed by her five grandchildren: Kelsey (Jon) Laager of Sun Prairie, Jordan (Grant) Kula of Sun Prairie, Madison Roupp (fiancée Aaron) of Madison, WI, Grant (Abbi) Fogle of Alamogordo, NM, and Chase Fogle of Oklahoma City, OK. She is also survived by three great granddaughters – Hailey Laager, Emma Laager and Remi Kula; her sister, Connie (Jack) Potter of Nashville, TN; and two nieces, Amanda Gibbs of Nashville and Malinda (Drew) Wilkinson of Marietta, GA.


“Bacaw” as she was known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, will be greatly missed. She was a fun-loving grandmother who cherished visits by her family and friends. A gathering to celebrate her life will take place this summer where she will be laid to rest at Mt Hope Cemetery in Williamsburg, Kansas.
