Margaret Joyce Pohlman

MIDDLETON – Margaret Joyce Pohlman, age 86 of Middleton, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at St. Mary’s Care Center. Margaret was born Dec. 10, 1921 in Montana, the daughter of Otto and Margaret Pond. Margaret worked as an operator for Wisconsin Bell and also worked for many years at St. Mary’s Hospital as a dietician. She loved to crochet but spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren is what meant the most to her. She will always be remembered as “Grandma” and “Grandma Cookies”. Margaret is survived by six children, Cindy (Jeff) Stroede, Edward (Julie) Pohlman, Kathy (Mike) Keleher, Marge Shovlain, Judy Barth, and Carol (Robert) Anderson; 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Marvel) Pond; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gilbert, Edward, William and Robert Pond; sisters, Evelyn Frey and Dorothy Warner; and sons-in-law, Patrick Shovlain and Dennis Barth. Private family services will be held with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona at a later date. We will be eternally grateful to Cindy and Jeff and their family: Jenny; Crystal and her children, Zach and Tyler; Jackie and her daughter, “Rhinny”; Angie and her children, Derek, Selena, Josie and Baby Cristian; and Jeffery and his children, Alyssa, Morgan, and Baby Hailey, for the loving care shown to Mom and grandma throughout the years, but especially the last few years when she wasn’t always able to care for herself. Special thanks to the loving staff at St. Mary’s Care Center for their care of Margaret, especially to Jesse, Shannon, Ted, Greg, Inga, Miranda, Barb, Annie, Mary, Tensin, Tammy and the other nursing staff.
