MADISON Marcia MacArthur-Eber (Friedl), age 81, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015. Marcia was born in Madison on March 23, 1934. She graduated from Madison West High School in 1952. She attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated from Madison Business College. She married Malcolm MacArthur and had four children: Kathy Nadjofi, James MacArthur, Susan Betz and David Eber. She has four grandchildren, Jasmine, Alexis, Jennifer and Rutger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Constance Friedl; son, James; sisters, Elaine, Bonnie (Tom) Butler; and brother, Bill. Marcia was a secretary to the Personnel Director at Forest Product Laboratory, secretary to the Dean of UW Math schools, secretary to the Administer of Equal Rights and to the Madison Postmasters office. She was also the secretary and bookkeeper at the family owned Block System Dry Cleaners. She loved to travel through Europe, Hawaii and the United States. Marcia enjoyed handicapping horses and dogs, and won many races, including one that paid her $130,285. She liked to swim, and she and a couple of friends would swim from North Shore Bay, where they had a summer home, across Lake Mendota to the Edgewater each summer. She also enjoyed cooking, reading and crossword puzzles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
