Audrey "Lynne" "Cookie" Abrahamson-Donoho, age 79, of Madison, Wis., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 14, 2024, surrounded by her family, after a short yet courageous battle with cancer.
Lynne was born in Duluth, Minn., as the youngest of six children to Russel and Lucille Abrahamson. She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1963, where she loved to reminisce about her time as a majorette. Lynne remained in Duluth until 1968 when she married and moved to Madison, Wis. She worked many years as an optometric manager for Pearl Vision Center & Madison Contact & Lens Clinic, where she met some of her lifelong friends. In 1998, she began her most cherished career as a caregiver to her four grandchildren. Lynne thoroughly enjoyed attending their school field trips, events, and sporting activities, never missing a single one. A recent cherished moment for Lynne was standing as a witness at her oldest grandson's wedding in February.
In 2011, Lynne started working as a front desk coordinator at her daughter’s salon, Hairadise & Co., where she remained for 13 years, becoming a cornerstone of the salon family. Clients fondly remember her kindness and genuine care, making the salon feel like a second home to many.
Lynne married her soulmate, JD (Gerald) Donoho, on May 28, 1988. They enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and local casinos, and they spent many years in bowling leagues at Dream Lanes in Madison. They always made the most of their time together until his passing in 2011.
Lynne loved being with her friends and family, making memories. She never wanted to miss an event and was lovingly teased about having a little FOMO (fear of missing out). Lynne will be missed by many, and her memory will live on through numerous cherished stories.
She is survived by her daughters, Staci Browne (Dobler) and Niki (Joe) Konkel (Dobler); grandchildren, Jakob (Amber) Konkel, Dylan (Kenzie) Konkel, Payton Browne, and Madi Browne; sister, Ruby (Beverly) Van Wave; brothers, Corky (Gordon) Abrahamson (Gail) and Butch (Gary) Abrahamson; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Donoho; parents, Russell and Lucille Abrahamson; brothers, Nick (Roland) Abrahamson (Alice) and Pete (Dale) Abrahamson (Betty); sister-in-law, Cindy Abrahamson; and extended family members and cherished friends. She has also joined her beloved fur babies, Morgan and Murphy.
We would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Toby Campbell with UW Carbone Cancer Center and his entire staff. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Agrace Hospice, especially Payton and Rose, for the kindness, care, and compassion shown to Lynne and her family during this journey.
