Lynn E. Connors

Lynn Elizabeth Connors died in Madison on Tuesday, July 24, 2007. She passed away in her home after a long and difficult struggle with cancer. Her children, Casey and Hunter, were at her bedside along with their father, John. Lynn was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 5, 1951. Her parents were Gerald and Lila Connors, now Lila Grieger. Gerald is buried in Star Lake, Wis. She is survived by her mother and two brothers, Prof. Michael Connors and Tim Connors, and their families. Kevin, her youngest brother, died in accidental circumstances, at age 30. The Connors family came from Ireland and settled in Cazenovia, in the 1850s. Lynn graduated from Wilton High School in Connecticut, Colby Junior College in New Hampshire and the University of Connecticut. She lived and worked in St. Germain, Wis., where she met Dr. John Herm. They were married there and moved to Muscoda. After their divorce, both Lynn and John moved to Madison. Their sons, Casey and Hunter, graduated from West High School. Lynn was a social worker at Dane County Mental Health Center, where she directed the Southeast Asian Children?s program. She traveled extensively and enjoyed her summer vacations at her cabin in St. Germain. In addition to her two sons, Lynn leaves behind her nephews, Whitney, Eliot, Dustin and Daniel and niece Jaclyn. All are inspired by her courage and determination during her final battle with cancer and the extent to which her children went in caring for her. Her family and friends will miss her very much.
