Lorraine H. Disrud

MADISON - Lorraine H. Disrud, age 84, born Blanchardville, Wis., died suddenly on Monday July 18, 2011. Lorraine was born February 1, 1927, to the Harry and Geneva Lien. She graduated from Blanchardville High School in 1945. Went on to Augsburg College, Minneapolis MN, where she met her future husband Martell C. Disrud and were married in 1950. They settled in Madison, were married and together for 56 years until Martell’s death January 18, 2006. Lorraine was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she served on numerous committees. She spent many hours volunteering at nursing homes in Madison as a friendly visitor. She is survived by two children, Debra (Tom) Ayres, of Holland, Mich. and Mark Disrud of Fitchburg; a sister, Sara (Dan) Costello, of Mt. Prospect, Ill. and three grandsons, Austen Ayres, Bill Disrud and Brian Disrud; nieces Susan (Doug) Ganske, Connie (Matthew) Sterner, Jeannine (Rich) Wing; nephews, Daniel (Ann) Costello, Timothy (Jennifer) Costello, and Thomas (Beth) Costello; cousin, Allan Lien; other relatives and numerous friends. A private burial service next to her husband in Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison has been planned for immediate family and close friends. Memorials may be given to Bethel Lutheran Church.
