Lois Statz

MADISON - Lois Statz of Madison, has reunited with her husband, and love of her life, James Statz. Lois passed away on June 15, 2021, at age 90 with her family at her side. The world is a better place because of the love she shared. Her family has pledged to carry on and spread that love. Her children, three daughters, Lynn (John) Kolodziej, Cindy (David) Dybdahl, and Peggy (Johnny) Dignan, and one son, Eric (Sandra) Statz, and her brother, Tom Erickson (Ellie Smigell), raised and loved as her own, are grateful for the love and support given to this remarkable woman.Lois lost her beloved at an early age. She learned to drive a car and ran a daycare from her home for years. The families of her little ones planted a tree and plaque in their gratitude for the love and care she gave. Lois has a family that includes her brother, Al Erickson; brother-in-law, Tomas Statz; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and all of their families. She would say, “I’ve been loved and it’s been a wonderful life.” Lois emailed her family every night and closed with “You are loved”. That love is a love we can all embrace. To honor Lois’s last request, a gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date to share and celebrate the blessings we have received.
