MADISON - Linus Buck Odegaard, age 87, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at his home. Linus was born Nov. 11, 1926, in Madison, the son of Asa and Mary (Travers) Odegaard. He married Hilda Pribyl on Nov. 18, 1967. Linus was a firefighter, dispatcher and lieutenant for the Madison Fire Department until his retirement in 1982. He served in the Navy for six years during World War II and the Korean War. Linus is survived by his wife, Hilda; five children from his first marriage, Bill (Jan) Odegaard, Sharon (Myron Zuidema) Ebert, Marcia Mason, Rebecca (Bob) Schiltz, and Peggy (Dennis) Bjugstad; four children through his marriage to Hilda, Charlaine Pribyl, Michael Pribyl, Cathy (Brian) Ramos, and Christine Pribyl; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; two sisters; and a son, James Odegaard. A memorial service will be held at HIGHLAND MEMORY GARDENS, 3054 County Road BB, Madison at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the Chapel.
