MADISON - Lillas Florence Lylee Ehster, age 82, of Madison, Wis., died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 8, 2018. Lylee was born on Aug. 5, 1935, in Faribault, Minn., to parents Emmett and Florence (Bauer) Schlobohm. She graduated from Madison East High School, Madison, in 1953. After graduation she started working in accounting for her brother at Schlobohm Construction, which later became Terra Engineering and Construction. Lylee worked there until her retirement in 2010. Lylee enjoyed spending her winters in Florida, where she made many friends who joined her in going to yard sales every Saturday and water exercise class every morning. At home in Madison, she enjoyed swimming at the UW Aquatic Center. It was one of the hardest things that she needed to give up because of her illness. The ladies at Terra enjoyed the flower arrangements that Lylee would make for them every Christmas. She enjoyed making jewelry for family and friends. Lylee was an amazing woman and touched many hearts with her warmth and sense of humor. She was a charter member of The Lutheran Church of the Living Christ in Madison, where she sang in the choir for 25 years. Lylee is survived by her husband, Orville Ehster; four children, David Harris, Randy (Brigetta) Harris, David (Cathy) Ehster and Linda (Thomas) Reason; and her sister, LaDonna (Jack) Shobe. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren Michelle Staude, Valerie Harris, Alyssa Nelson, Beth (Trevor) Kauffeld, Aaron (Jennifer) Reason, Jonah (Kelsey) Reason, Brenna (Camden) Wesley, Lucas Ehster, Lily Ehster, and William Ehster; eight great-grandchildren, Owen, Evan, and Isabel Kauffeld, Emmett and Nora Reason, Dean Reason, and Silas and Rowan Wesley; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lennes Schlobohm. We would like to thank Dr. Sam Lubner and the UW-Carbone Cancer Center for her care over the past 6 years, Agrace HospiceCare for the last three months and Brightstar for providing 24-hour nursing care for the last three weeks. A celebration of life will be held at The Lutheran Church of the Living Christ, 110 N. Gammon Road, Madison at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Dan Kowert will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lylees life.
