Janesville - Leonard F. Jacoboski, age 81, passed away Sept. 16, 2009 at University Hospital in Madison following surgical complications. He was born November 6, 1927 in Stevens Point to Alois and Agnes (Brouske) Jacoboski. He served in the US Coast Guard during World War II from 1945 to 1948 in the Pacific Theatre. He was a graduate of UW-Stevens Point before receiving his Masters in History from UW-Whitewater. After graduation he was employed with AO Smith Corp. in Milwaukee as a line supervisor. While living in Milwaukee he met his wife of fifty six years Grace A. Lorbeck. He then began his teaching career, which included time at various school districts before teaching at Janesville Craig for twenty two years, retiring in 1986. He was a past commander of the state and local American Legion and was an active member of the Golden Kiwanis Club in Janesville. Leonard is survived by his beloved wife Grace, of Janesville; two sons, Gary Jacoboski, of Janesville, and Mark (Kristen) Jacoboski, of Madison; one daughter, Jane (Timothy) Schramm, of Schenectady, NY; three brothers, Louis (Donna) Jacoboski of Cincinnati, OH; Alois "Jake" (Mary) Jacoboski, of Jacksonville, FL; John (Connie) Jacoboski, of Stevens Point; a sister Mary Ann Simmons, of Janesville; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his eldest son, Jerome Jacoboski of Stevens Point. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 1618 E. Racine St., Janesville. A visitation will be held on Saturday, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
