Leona Sobye

MADISON/BROOKFIELD - Leona Sobye, age 89, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Covenant Oaks, Madison, Wis. She was born August 24, 1916 in Stone Lake, Wis. to George and Fern (Argetsinger) Miller. She was united in marriage to Harry Sobye on May 13, 1934. Leona is survived by daughters Joyce (Jack) Leichtenberg, of Madison, Wis; and Janice (Ed) Davis, of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and three step great-grandchildren. Further survived by brothers Emil Miller, James Miller and one sister, Ellanor Dunne. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother George Miller, grandsons Michael and Andrew Leichtenberg and great grandson John Michael Schmalzer. She will be remembered for her love of family, God and church. Her loving spirit was given generously to all who knew her. Funeral Services will be held at the NEW BERLIN FREE METHODIST CHURCH, 2975 S. Sunnyslope Rd., New Berlin, on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 11 a.m., with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in memory of Leona.
