Lawrence E. Johnson

Marshall-Lawrence E. Johnson, age 87, passed away November 20, 2009 at Sun Prairie Health Care Center.  He was born May 16, 1922 in Marshall, Wisconsin to John and Evelyn (Chadwick) Johnson.He graduated from Marshall High School in 1939 before he married Eleanor Trachte on November 25, 1943 in Marshall.  Lawrence was employed at Oconomowoc Canning Company in Sun Prairie for thirty five years.  He and Eleanor purchased their farm in Marshall in 1957, which they continued to operate their entire lives.  He will be remembered for his love of gardening, music, woodworking and most of all his family. Lawrence is survived by three daughters Patricia Casto, of Columbus, Ohio; Sandra Ruskin, Sun Prairie, WI; Beverly (Dale) Woldt of Marshall, WI; three brothers, Harold Johnson of Dewitt, IA; Stanley Johnson, of Marshall, WI; Theodore (Della) Johnson of Marshall, WI; two sisters, Janice(Vernon) Wiehert, of Waterloo, WI; Evelyn Schumacher of Strawberry Point, IA; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents, his wife and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Marshall.  A visitation will be held from 2:00 until time of service at church on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Medina Cemetery in Marshall. A memorial fund is being established in memory of Lawrence.
