Lawrence Dale Miller

ROCHELLE - Lawrence Dale Miller, 86, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wis. He was born Jan. 2, 1927, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Oscar and Glada (Breed) Miller. After graduating from high school, Larry attended the University of Dubuque, where he was called to active duty by the U.S. Army as a paratrooper during World War II. He married the former Betty Munson and together they had two daughters, Jody and Kimberly. He owned and operated Better Heating and Cooling in Rockford for many years. Larry is survived by daughter, Kimberly Klink; two grandsons, Dr. Edward (Laura) Klink and Daniel (LaDonna) Phillips; six great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Ellie and Katie Phillips and Jacob, Benjamin and Ruth Klink; son-in-law, State Rep. Ron Wait; brother, Robert (Donna) Miller; niece, Lynn (Kevin) Oyen; and nephew, Doug Miller. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Betty; his parents; brother, John Miller; and daughter, Jody Wait. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
