MIDDLETON – Lawrence “Larry” D. Johnson, age 69, passed away on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012. Larry was born in Mason City, Iowa on Oct. 30, 1942. He served our country during the Vietnam War, worked as a brakeman on the railroad, sailed on the Great Lakes and worked at Mid Plains Telephone for 25 years, retiring in 2001. After retiring, Larry loved to spend his days cooking and grilling to the delight of all who shared his wonderful meals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Francis Johnson; step father, Capt. Richard Olsen and brother, Dick. Larry is survived by his wife Susi (Sue); daughters, Kim (Jeff) Plass, Angela Johnson; grandchildren, Jason, Erin and Jordan; brother, Rev. Bruce (Vicki) Johnson and his furry friends, Blue and Dewey, who will be quite lost without him. “For over 30 years you have been by my side, my constant companion and best friend through it all. What good memories. I will always love you and someday we will be together again.” Thank you to everyone who supported us with you kind words, hugs, calls and visits. Thanks to the staff of Agrace Hospice for their devoted and compassionate care especially that of nurses Lindsay and Annette. At Larrys request there will be no service.
