JUNEAU - Kim Ann Kujawa, Age 49, of Juneau, and formerly of Lancaster, passed away on April 24, 2011, surrounded by her family at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, after a courageous four month battle with a glioblastoma brain tumor. She was born on March 29, 1962, in Platteville, WI, the daughter of David and Charleen (Near) Kujawa. Kim graduated from Lancaster High School in 1980. She then attended Southwest Wisconsin Technical College obtaining certification as a Dietary Manager. Kim was an avid cat lover, enjoyed doing puzzles, playing bingo, casino gambling, and cooking. Her pride and joy was her daughter, Kasey, her grandson, Rylan, and her cats, Tanner, T.J., and Orio. Kim is survived by her daughter, Kasey Fischer and grandson Rylan Fischer of Waupun, WI; her parents, David Kujawa of Juneau, WI, and Charleen Kujawa of Lancaster, WI; siblings, Kay Kujawa of Watertown, South Dakota, and Kevin (Jennifer) Kujawa of Greenwood, WI; nieces, Courtney (Benjamin) Olivier of Waukesha, WI and Christine (LT. Nathan) Schilling of San Diego, CA, and her step-grandmother Darlene Near of Onalaska, WI. Kim also leaves behind a special cousin and ?big sister? Mary Ann (Richard) Hascall of Eden Prairie, MN along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Eileen Near and her paternal grandparents, John and Beatrice Kujawa. To celebrate Kim’s life, friends and family may join us for fellowship at the Lancaster Congregational Fellowship Hall beginning at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 with a luncheon to follow at noon. Burial of cremains will be at a later date. The family wishes to thank the Hope House, Rochester, MN and the doctors and staff of the University of Wisconsin Hospital TLC and Palliative Care Units for the compassionate care and support provided to Kim and our family during this difficult time.
