Kattie Mae Dotson

February 8, 1925 — March 27, 2017

MADISON Kattie Mae (Thurmond) Dotson, was born February 8, 1925 in Lexington, Mississippi, to Charlie and Elma Torry. Kattie has three sisters and five brothers, Lela Parks, Mattie Jackson, Rosetta Jordan, Henry Torry, Robert Torry, Otha Torry, Willie Torry and Walter Torry. Kattie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She served him to the end and like the song says, she was working and running for Jesus along time and she not tired yet. Kattie later moved to Chicago, Illinois where she married Walter Dotson and raised five children, Charlie (Gloria) Blandin, Patricia Moorehead, Michael (Jessica Potts) Moorehead, Dwight (Keisha) Scott, and Louise Matlock; she also had a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kattie moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1990 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Kattie enjoyed cooking big meals for her family and friends, so cooking for the holidays was nothing to her, easily cooking the family favorite dishes. Kattie also love playing cards, traveling, visiting loved ones, and attending ElderCare. In 1994 Kattie joined New Fellowship Church of God and Christ. You could always find her in the front row with one of her many beautiful hats. In 2005, she joined End Time Ministry where she was a member until she became ill. Kattie passed away at home on Monday, March 27, 2017. She will be met at the Gates of Heaven by her mother, father, five brothers, and her son, Charlie. Kattie was loved by many and will be truly missed. Funeral services for Ms. Kattie Dotson will be held at END TIME MINISTRY, 6708 Watts Rd., Madison on Saturday, April 8, 2017 beginning at 1 p.m., Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from noon until the time of service.
