MADISON Kathleen Katie or Kathy Claire Kinnaird, age 67, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, Jan. 1, 2016. Kathleen was born on Jan. 28, 1948 in Madison Wis., the daughter of Einar Pat Oliver Olson and Rose Marie (Stone) Olson. She graduated from Central High School in 1966. When she was in her 40s, she went back to school and earned an associates degree in Computer Programming from MATC. Kathleen had a personality that was larger than life. She was down to earth, easy going and had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and welcome when they were in her presence. She was always looking out for those less fortunate. Holidays at her home were filled with family, friends, and those who didnt have a place to go. Her sense of humor was second to none. She was always laughing and making those around her smile. All of this coming from a woman who was absolutely stunning to look at. Standing nearly 6 feet tall with beautiful, blonde hair, sun kissed skin and blue eyes, if you didnt know her, youd think she would be self absorbed. But she was just the opposite. She always put others before herself. Giving even more than she had to give, so others wouldnt have to go without. This was especially true when it came to her children and grandchildren. Kathleen was an exceptional mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was seeing her children and grandchildren happy. There wasnt anything that she wouldnt do for her children, her family, or her friends. Kathleen was loved by all who were blessed enough to have known her. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Shannon Bright and Kimberly Long; grandchildren, Lily Long (15), Sophia Long (13), Brooklyn Bright (10), Xavier Long (9), Ryann Roehling (5), and Grace Roehling (4); sisters, Darlene (Daryl) Michel, Karen (Harold) Grabandt , Kris (Dan) Guido; brother-in-law, Bob Hammond; nieces, Lisa (Shawn) Kraus, Wendi (Tony) Endres, Keeley (Ron) Wineka, Angi Schaetzka, Sara Schaetzka and Teresa Schaetzka; along with many great nieces and nephews. Kathleen joined her father, Einar Oliver Olson; mother, Rose Marie Olson; sister, Patricia Hammond; and nephew, George on the morning of Jan. 1, 2016, as they welcomed her home. Her family will be having a Celebration of Life for her beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at the VFW DAY POST 7591, 301 Cottage Grove Road, Madison.
