Kathleen Ann Hibbard

COTTAGE GROVE Kathleen Ann (Main) Hibbard, age 72, of Cottage Grove, entered into the eternal hands of our Lord on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at St. Marys Hospital in Madison. She was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 16, 1944, the daughter of Floyd and Marguerite (Taylor) Main. After she graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1962 where she was very active in sports and music, Kathy went on to study English and Physical Education at UW-LaCrosse. She was a hardworking mother of three who had a successful career as an accountant at various places over the years. Kathy was an avid golf fan, both watching and playing when she was able. She enjoyed watching basketball and was a huge fan of Michael Jordan. A very faith filled lady, and attended many bible studies. She was a lighthouse in this world spreading the word to others. She is survived by her children, June Nielsen, Michael (Jennifer) Hibbard and Josie (Jason) Babinchak; six grandchildren, (who meant the world to her), Brandon, Patrick, Damien, Marion, Isabella and Colton; two great grandchildren, Roman and Zayne; her twin brother, Thomas (Joan) Main; brother, Jim (Judy) Main; a nephew; and several nieces, close friends and neighbors. Kathy was preceded in death by her brother John Main on Aug. 14, 2016, and her parents. A celebration of Kathys life will be held at ABIDING SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 406 W. Cottage Grove Road, Cottage Grove on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a service beginning at 6 p.m. with Pastor Mike Mayak officiating. A time for fellowship will follow the service. Kathy was an MS Warrior. MS may have taken her body, but never her mind or spirit. Mom, you taught us to be strong, to make wise choices, to live in grace and to cast all of our troubles onto the Lord. We love you and we will miss you.
