Kathleen Ann Christianson

Kathleen A. Christianson, age 75, died Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua, WI. Kathleen was born in Wisconsin on July 10, 1940 to John and Lucile (Nimm) Pirkel. She married Merlin Christianson in the rectory of St. Patricks Church in Janesville on July 18, 1959. Kathleen worked as an aide at Mercy Hospital and, also for a time, worked at Parker Pen. She loved to paint and to garden. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and a wonderful grandmother. Kathleen is survived by her husband Merlin, her son Robert Christianson of Brodhead, her daughter Jeanne Christianson of Janesville, and her son Barton (Bridgett) Christianson of Janesville. She is further survived by her sister Nancy (Ray) Biggerstaff of Fort Wayne IN, and her brother John (Doris) Pirkel, Jr. of Watertown, also 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Deborah Dagenhart, her brothers Charlie and Richard Pirkel and her daughter-in-law, Mary (Hall) Christianson. A Memorial Service will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1618 E. Racine St., in Janesville, at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 29.
