Karen Louise Volkmer, 58, passed away of a sudden heart attack on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in Janesville, Wisconsin. She was born in Ohio to Edward and Carol Jean Volkmer on May 4, 1965. Karen was a pharmacy technician at Fresenius Medical Care.
Karen is survived by her loving husband Daniel Moore (musician) and her three children: Ashley George and her husband Cedale George (of WI) with four of Karen’s grandchildren; Brandon E. McKerrow, active Navy E-6; and William A. McKerrow (of AZ) with three of Karen’s grandchildren and their mother Dawndreia R. McKerrow (of AZ). She is also survived by her brother William Volkmer (of OK) and his wife and their three adult aged children, and her sister Deborah Volkmer (of OH) and her two adult aged children.
Karen’s memory will remain in our hearts. She loved music, rollercoasters, laughter, peaceful days, the enjoyment of water, and cooking or enjoying comfort foods (like pizza and ice cream). We will carry with us Karen’s loving nature which continues to show in her grandchildren who referred to her as Gigi; her beloved husband and his music, and her children who could always turn to her for advice and care. Even in death her wish to help others was seen with her wish to be an organ donor.
She is preceded in death by her parents Leroy Edward Volkmer and Carol Jean Volkmer (formerly Speckalske) and her children’s Dad, William Archibald McKerrow Jr.
She will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace you loving soul; Karen, Mom, Gigi.
