MADISON Kara Lynn Harper, age 43, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born July 26, 1973, in Madison, the daughter of David and Donna (Gitzel) Harper. Kara attended Madison schools and was employed by Channels To Employment for 24 years. She attended Life Center Church. Kara enjoyed putting 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzles together, doing word search, crafts, bowling, movies, playing bingo, going out to eat, and yearly trips to Great America. She was a volunteer at the Dane County Humane Society for many years as both a canine companion and feline friend. Kara is survived by her parents; a brother, Greg Harper, and his friend, Lisa; nephew, Cody; niece, Lexie; uncle, Gary; aunt, Kathy; a very special couple, Chris and Sara Low Olsen and their daughter, Maryn; as well as other relatives, caregivers, coworkers, and friends; and the love of her life, Chuck. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Shirley Harper, and Ralph and Clara Gitzel; Aunt Carol; and Uncle Chuck. Family and friends are invited to a visit at LIFE CENTER CHURCH, 4402 Femrite Drive, Madison on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Karas life beginning at 11 a.m. Private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. We would like to thank the amazing medical staff at UW Hospital, Dr. Maki and Dr. Long, who took such good care of Kara during her brief stay.
