Since 2000 she volunteered in Madison at The Literacy Network, RSVP, Friends of the Bookstore at Central Library, and was honored with the volunteer of the year award at Madison Childrens Museum in 2009. She had a passion for learning about holistic living including practicing yoga, and studying other cultures. She is survived by her former husband, John; three children, Ellen (Chris), David (Marta) and Jane; two grandchildren, Justin and Amber; sisters, Jeanne, Sue (Jim) and Mary (Larry); and brothers, Rick (Sheliah) and Jim. Many nieces and nephews around the country also survive her. She was preceded in death by her younger sister, Annie; and nephew, Mikey.
