Joyce K. Richter

OREGON - Joyce K. (Quade) Richter, age 77, left this world to join her daughter, Debbie with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2011 at the Don & Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg, following a battle with cancer. She was born November 18, 1933 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Lester and Anne (Rehm) Quade. Joyce graduated from Chilton High School in 1951. She married Carl Richter on April 8, 1967 in Chilton. Joyce worked in banking for thirty three years, before retiring and working part time in the catering business. Joyce enjoyed playing Euchre, Shepshead, going to casinos, bingo and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. Joyce is survived by her husband Carl Richter, of Oregon; a daughter, Lori (Phil) Thompson of New Glarus; three grandchildren, Morgan, Hailey and Coleden Thompson, all at home in New Glarus; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter Debbie. The family wishes to thank the Dean Oncology staff, UW Carbone Cancer Center staff and the staff at HospiceCare, Inc. for their exceptional care of Joyce. A memorial service will be held at LAKE EDGE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 4200 Buckeye Rd., Madison at noon on Saturday, June 18, 2011. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund is being established in memory of Joyce.
