Joyce Divine

VALLEY SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA - Joyce Hollenberger Divine was born on Feb 17, 1936 to Albert and Gladys (Kramer) Hollenberger. She was reunited in heaven with her loving parents, her younger sister, Sharon, and her grand-daughter Amanda on October 12, 2011. She passed away peacefully at home in Valley Springs, California with her husband and son by her side. She is survived by her husband Jerry, her son Dennis, her grandchildren Kendall, Rachel and Cody and her three great-grandchildren, Arianna, Faith and Lilly. Joyce enjoyed life to it's fullest and made an impact wherever she went. She loved social events and parties and was always at the center of the action. In their Fremont neighborhood, she organized many neighborhood gatherings, carrying on the traditions she learned while growing up in the Midwest. She was active in the PTA for many years and "made a difference" in her community. When she saw something that needed to be done, she was a woman of action and didn't wait for someone else to act. She and Jerry were also very active in Little League baseball. This became an integral part of their life and they made lifelong friends through this organization. This community of parents formed such a strong bond that they became a second family, continuing to get together for regular dinner dates for 40+ years. In the hustle and bustle of our current daily lives, we can all learn from this example of the importance of making life-long friends. One of Joyce’s' passions was her family heritage. She devoted thousands of hours researching her family tree. This research took her to many places around the world such as Germany, England, Utah and Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held at the SALEM UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Eastman, Wis. on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 12 noon with Pastor Lynn Schreck officiating. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery in Eastman. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Lunch will be served in the Church hall immediately following the services.
