MADISON - Joshua J. Hanson was born July 3,1974, in Madison, Wis., to Rolf A. Hanson and Sandra E. Hanson (Starch). Joshua left us on January 9, 2024.


Josh lived in Pardeeville and Portage, Wis., from 1979 to 1987. When he began Junior High School, he moved to Madison to live with his father.


Josh became a painter and drywaller. He enjoyed cooking especially on the grill, Gaming, and rollerblading. As soon as his sons were old enough, he had them out rollerblading with him.


Josh is survived by his father, Rolf (Suzy); his mother, Sandra; sons, Jacob Hanson and Jordan Nelson (Rosaura Prang); brothers, Derek Hanson and Bee Cha; sisters, Rhonda Thomson (Jeron), Channing Little, Mackenzie Bruns, and Carla Hildebrand; niece, Kasey Thomson; nephew, Nick Thompson; great-niece, Catori Thompson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Josh is preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Helen Starch, and Adrian and Inez Hanson; cousin, Brian Ketterer; uncle, Richard Hanson; and his special aunt, Sandy K. Hanson.


Services will be held at the 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the SHERMAN AVENUE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 3705 N. Sherman Ave., Madison. Lunch will be served following the service.
