Joseph A. Stupar, age 94, of Waunakee and formerly of Waukegan, Ill., passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Creekwood Assisted Living in Waunakee. He was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of George and Julia (Basic) Stupar. Prior to his service in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, Joe married Margaret Grum. Together they had two children, Steven and Caroline. Joe spent many years working in the steel mill in Waukegan, Ill. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and bingo. Joe is survived by his two children, Caroline (Michael) Cullen of Madison, and Steven Stupar of Waunakee; four grandchildren, Mark, Shannon, Jeremy and Todd; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a sister and two brothers. A Memorial Mass will be held at OUR LADY OF HUMILITY, 10601 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, Ill., on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, beginning at 10 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Ascension Cemetery, in Libertyville, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joe's name to Creekwood Assisted Living or Southern Care Hospice would be appreciated.
