John O'Brien

Janesville- John “Steve” O’Brien Jr., age 73, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 29, 1934 in Ottawa, Illinois. He married Helen Stavik on November 27, 1953 in Dubuque, Iowa. He was employed at General Motors for thirty years and also owned O’Brien’s Bar for twenty years. He enjoyed being with family and friends, stock car racing, flying airplanes, skydiving and woodworking. He is survived by his wife Helen, three sons, Bruce ( Joanne) O’Brien, Mathew (Ellen) O’Brien, Steven O’Brien, all of Janesville, WI; sister Pat Goldman of Vedias, TX; grandson Wyatt O’Brien of El Paso, TX; and eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debra, and two sisters, Verna and Leona. A memorial service will be at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at All Faiths Funeral & Cremation Services 1618 E. Racine St. Janesville.
