Janesville- John “Jack” Lawrence Gillen, age 80, passed away quietly August 31, 2006 at his home in Janesville. He was born July 28, 1926, in St.Paul, MN. He joined the Navy in 1943 serving during World WarII. He then re-enlisted to the Air Force and fought in Korea,and Vietnam, retiring in 1969. In the early fifties he married Patricia M. Roethler. John will be fondly remembered for being an artist who loved working with his hands in leather, creating handmade muzzleloaders, and wood carvings. He will also be remembred for being a world traveler. John is survived by his daughters Kathleen “Kitty” D.(Lila J. Tesch) Gilbert, Edgerton, WI; Pamela S. Fass of Madison, WI; Judith A (Mervin Davis). Gillen, of Pikesville, MD; one brother Lawrence J. Gillen, of Florida; eleven grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter, Alisa J. Gillen-Jeske Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at All Faiths Funeral Chapel 1618 E.
