John J. Ruston

Janesville-John J. Ruston, age 63, passed away December 17, 2010 at Mercy Hospital following an extended illness. He was born July 7, 1947 in Beloit, WI; the son of Robert and Margaret (McNeil) Ruston. On September 11, 1981 he married Helen James in Janesville, WI. He worked for the City of Janesville for twenty seven years before retiring in October of 1999. John will be fondly remembered for being a passionate toy maker, carving many by hand. He also enjoyed making model trains. John is survived by his wife Helen Ruston of Janesville, WI; two children Tracy (Karl Bowman) Ruston of Havelock, NC; Tina (Brian) Stuckey of Beloit, WI; three grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob and Amery, he is also survived by several nieces, nephews and one special dog Baily. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Dana James Ruston (1969) two brothers Phillip and Gerry. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at New Life Assembly of God 2416 N. Wright Rd. Janesville. Pastor Todd Pope will be officiating. Burial will follow at Milton Lawns Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 1:00 until the time of service at the church. A memorial fund is being established in memory of John.
