John C. Witham

Madison-John C. Witham, 59, died March 27 at the Don & Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born May 16, 1948 in Dayton, OH, the third son of Harley C & Katherine F. Witham, John retired as a supervisor in the WI Department of Workforce Development in August 2006. A political conservative in a very progressive community, John was seen as a loveable curmudgeon. Appreciation and gratitude are extended to those attending John in his struggle, particularly HospiceCare center of Fitchburg, WI and his wonderful care team, Andrea and Joanna as well as Dr. Frontiera of Dean Hematology/Oncology, Dr Zinda of Turville Bay Radiology/Oncology, Drs. Snider & Santana of Dean, Fish Hatchery and Dr. Benton of Dean West plus ever so many nurses and technicians for their tender and sensitive care. Preceded in death by his mother, John is survived by his beloved daughter, Jessica J. Witham, father Harley C (Mildred) Witham, brothers David G. Witham and James T (Joan) Witham and nephews Christopher and Sean. Prophecy is real. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, March 31, 2008 at the All Faiths Funeral Chapel 4058 Lien Rd. Madison. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
