Jody Lynn Svetnicka

MADISON – Jody Lynn Svetnicka, age 61, passed away Sept. 5, 2009 at Badger Prairie Health Care Center in Verona, following a long illness. Jody was born March 31, 1957 in Madison, the oldest of three daughters born to Donald and Doris Svetnicka. Jody graduated from high school and attended MATC, where she studied bookkeeping and typing. She was employed as a nurse’s aide and then as a secretary until her illness made it impossible for her to continue. Jody was a happy and friendly woman whose love of talking to her sister Jill on the phone, her uncanny memory about caregiver’s families, and her joy of having vibrantly colored hair will long be remembered by those who knew her. Jody is survived by her sister, Jill Svetnicka, a special aunt, Elnora Woods, special cousins, Bernadette Bull and Maxine Taylor, and other relatives and many friends. Jody was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Joy Svetnicka. Funeral services will be held at RESURRECTION CEMETERY CHAPEL, 2705 Regent St., Madison at 1 p.m. on Friday Sept. 11, 2009.
