Joanne M. Mccluskey

MADISON - Joanne McCluskey, age 73, of Madison, passed away on July 21, 2016, peacefully in her home. She was born to Paul Hamburg and Betty Dederich. Joanne was a loving and considerate woman who loved to be involved with her family and friends. She adored her grandchildren, becoming and remaining a big part of their lives. She enjoyed scrapbooking for them and taking vacations with them, creating a lot of good memories. She worked for the State of Wisconsin for 27 years under the Department of Health and Social Services. In her spare time and throughout her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, always living life to the fullest. She thoroughly loved dancing and country music, and loved to read, spending most of her spare time with a book in hand. She resided at a senior community apartment complex for the last eight years, playing a vital role in assisting daily activities and community gatherings, and was always willing to help anyone in need. She also enjoyed frequent outings with her friends from the community, Madison, and the surrounding areas. She is survived, and will be greatly missed, by her daughter, Cynthia Kraut; son-in-law, Robert Kraut; her two grandchildren, Alyssa Kraut and Nichole Kraut; her special niece, Sheri (Tim) Nelson; siblings, Carole Sorenson, Donald (Joy) Hamburg, James Hamburg, Peggy (Pat) Ringelstetter, Terry (Eileen) Hamburg, Mary Lou (Donald) Whitman, and Tom (Lori) Dederich. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Dederich; her father, Paul Hamburg; her brother-in-law, Keith Sorenson; and her loving feline companion, Oreo. A memorial service will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago St., Madison, on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016 beginning at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
