Ales January 18, 1966 in Rockford, Ill. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading and living life to it’s fullest. Joan was a loving wife and caring mother who especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her charisma and zest for life will be missed. Joan is survived by her husband, Michael; three children, William Douglass, Madison, Melinda (Alan) Monroe, McFarland, and Richard Ales, Madison; five grandchildren, Anthony, Aaron, and Andrew Monroe, Sydney Ales, and Haley Stenseth; a great grandson, Alexander Monroe; sisters-in-law, Mayme (Joseph) Frisella and Naomi Ales. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to HospiceCare in memory of Joan. We would like to give special thanks to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and HospiceCare Center for the loving and compassionate care she received. The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me besides the still waters. He restores my soul, he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
