Jessica Lynn Szerlong

Jessica Lynn Szerlong, 30, Janesville, passed away, Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015 at her home. The daughter of Joseph and Colleen (Maloney) Szerlong of Milton, Wis.; she was born in Maywood, Ill. on July 9, 1985. Jessica was born on a very bright summer day. And a bright addition to this world she surely became! Jessica Bessica, Jessie Bessie, our Middle Kiddle, she was always the life in our family, the one who brought adventure, laughter, and just plain fun to any given moment. Jessica loved her animals, from her guinea pigs, to her cats, to Brady, her big black Labrador. Jessica was full of warmth and caring, and love for every single person she met. Jessicas first and foremost desire had always been to get married, build a family, have children, and to be Mommy. She was the ultimate family person.loving family events more than any others, and bringing so much joy to the family members there. Jessica was always there to offer a positive perspective to those who needed one. Though her family dream never came to be, she also had other interests. Her fondest wish as she grew older was to join a mission somewhere and help others. She was a giver in the true sense of the word. If she wasnt giving of her time or her talent, she just simply gave her love, and oh so much love she could give! As our Middle Kiddle, Jessica loved her sisters so much and strived to emulate them. She was the first to hold her little brother, doted on him and adored him all her life. She picked on her sisters and laughed with them in shared silliness. Jessica also had an enormous sense of loyalty and commitment to her family-and to her Pizza Hut family as well, having worked there for thirteen years. Jessica Lynn was our soccer player, our cheerleader, our number one pizza maker but more than anything else--she was the one we always looked to for support, for love, for just being there for us. She brought brightness, compassion, joy, and a sense of humor that warmed your soul. Jessica is survived by her parents; her siblings, Sarah Jo Szerlong and husband Jason Edwardson of Fishers, IN, Hannah Marie (Szerlong) Sumpter and husband Johnathan of Arlington, TX, Gabriel Roman Szerlong of Milton, WI; nieces, Adalyn Sumpter and Freya Joleen Edwardson; grandmother, Mary Virginia Maloney of Sterling, IL; and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at NATIVITY OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 313 E. Wall St., Janesville on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial at St. Marys Cemetery in Milton will follow the Mass. We love you Jessica ---we miss you Jessica---but we know God has you in His arms and you are happy among the angels and saints in Heaven above.
