MADISON – Jesse Jay BonoAnno, age 81 of Madison, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. He was born in Madison on January 3, 1943, the son of Sam and Lucille BonoAnno. Jay married Alana “Lonnie” Gross in Madison on May 5, 1984.
Jay was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Oscar Mayer after 28 years. After Jay retired, he worked parttime for Bimbo Bakery. Jay and his wife Lonnie also operated the Kozy Inn and Jay’s Liquor Store.
In his earlier years, Jay did lots of traveling including, Jamaica, Mexico, Canada, and all across the U.S. He like to go to casinos and was a big Brewer and Packer fan. He spent many hours watching Westerns and Fox News.
Jay is survived by his wife, Lonnie; sons, Jay (Pam) and Jim; daughter, Tricia; stepson, Jeff; granddaughters, Kaylee, Emily and Ally; step-granddaughter, Dani; step-grandson, Taylor; great granddaughters, Estelle and Mila; brother, Tony; sisters, Gena and Anne; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Per Jay’s wishes, no services will be held. Private burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Madison. Memorials can be made in Jay’s name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Agrace HospiceCare.
A big thank you to his Agrace HospiceCare team, Rebecca, Carmen, and Tristen, for the great care they provided to Jay in his final days. They are angels.
