Jean Griffin

JANESVILLE – W. Jean Griffin, age 89, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at River Bluff Nursing Center in Rockford. She was born in New Madrid, Missouri on March 7, 1934, the daughter of Horace Lemuel McCarter and Della Kemp McCarter Baker. Jean married Ernest E. Griffin on May 18, 1989.

Jean loved to sew and play bingo and other games while she was at River Bluff.

Jean is survived by her three children, Patricia (David) Bishop, Brenda (Steve) Knutson, and Jerry (Carol) Kellum; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and all her many friends at River Bluff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, on May 17, 2013; her parents; her son, James “Pete” Kellum; and three brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at noon on Friday, November 3, 2023, at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL HOME, 1618 E. Racine St., Janesville, with Rev. Lee Meissner officiating. Burial will follow at Milton Lawns Memorial Park in Janesville. Visitation will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL HOME on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
