Jayne L. Labertew

September 6, 1960 — February 2, 2025

Jayne Louise LaBertew passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at home on February 2, 2025. Jayne was born on September 6, 1960, to Charlotte D. Heonis and LeRoy A. LaBertew in Hialeah, Florida.

Her mother, Charlotte, said she went through the front door and out the back of High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was an avid softball player in her younger years. Jayne was very proud to be a part of the LGBTQ community.

Jayne eventually found her passion in life, welding. She was a welder for 18+ years at Bomatic until she retired. Upon retirement and moving to Marshall, Wisconsin she later found a part time position working with children as a ride operator at the local amusement park.

Jayne’s kids were her dogs, primarily dachshunds. Each of her dogs over the years were spoiled rotten and loved endlessly.

Jayne was preceded in death by her father, Leroy LaBertew; uncles, Bob Oakes and Richard Oakes; aunts, Caroline Oakes and Marilyn Oakes; and her best friend, Jeanie Gambill.

She is survived by her mother, Charlotte Heonis; older brothers, Charles (Iris) and James (Karen) Tinsman; sister, Judy Christopher; twin brother, Jeff LaBertew; many loved nieces and nephews; and an endless list of dear friends.

A celebration of Jayne’s life will take place in North Carolina.
