Jay W. Berg

Jay Wayne Berg age 71 of Janesville, WI passed away March 6, 2025, unexpectedly from natural causes at his home. He was born March 25, 1953 to Melvin L. and Dorothy J. Soule Berg. Jay grew up in Janesville, graduated from Craig High School in 1972.

Jay worked many jobs throughout his life. His jobs included delivering the Milwaukee Journal, Messenger, Tracy Farms, Libby’s Foods, McFarland Pheasant Farms, Durfee Roofing, Swiss Colony, Goodwill, Kohl’s Department Store as well as contract work doing drywall, painting and cement work to name a few.

In 1999 Jay moved to Durham, NC with family. During a family reunion to the Outer Banks Jay enjoyed swimming in the ocean. There was a time Jay swam so far out from shore that you could hardly see his head. At that point I’m sure he was swimming with the sharks. In 2011 Jay returned to Janesville with family.

Jay could have you laughing with his shenanigans. He was always a kid at heart. He loved his chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, brownies, Milwaukee Bucks and Green Bay Packers. Jay enjoyed riding his motorcycle and bicycle. Jay would help out with any projects anyone would have without hesitation. Jay enjoyed a good family game of cards.

Jay is survived by his brothers James of Fort Myers, FL, Jan (Libby) Berg of Janesville, Joel (Paula) Berg of Munich, Germany. Sister in-law Jan M. Berg of Fort Myers, FL. Nieces and nephews Brian (Sharice) Berg their children Brooklyn, Madison, Jaxson. Tiffany (Dylan) Hegg their children Taylor, Allison, Brayden, Madelyn. Nicole (Jonathan) Schweiger, their children Lucia, and Sienna. Jered Berg and daughter Bella. Jessica Berg (Jeffrey Harrington) and daughter Jolee. Kathryn Berg (Jamie Morris). Jake (Kaylee) Berg, their children Asher and Kia. Daniel Berg: many extended family members and friends.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents Mel 02/23/2023, Dorothy 01/31/2021, brothers, Gerald 11/06/2016 and Jeffery 12/18/2009.

Private family service is planned at a later date.  All Faiths Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family.
