Janet M. Jacobson

JANESVILLE – Janet Marlene Jacobson, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, November 1, 2024. She was born in Stoughton, Wis., on May 7, 1938, the daughter of Chester and Dorothy (Fox) Oren.

Janet was a strong woman, raising all eight of her children on her own. She welcomed everyone into her home, and no one ever left hungry. Janet loved to cook and bake, often sending a care package when you left. Holidays were a special time for Janet as well, she loved making Christmas cookies and candy. She was a very giving person and loved spending time with her large family.

Janet is survived by her sister, Susan Oren; eight children, Jim Jacobson, Cheryl (Paul) Tessmer, Ted Jacobson, Tina (Kevan) Jacobson, Jeff (Dawn) Jacobson, Jon (Nicole) Jacobson, Lori (Terry) Brookens, and Lisa Jacobson; two special nephews, Damon and Darin Oren; 16 grandchildren, Melissa (Jorry), Alisha, Michelle (Lucy), Misty, Mandy, Matt (Tina), Jeffrey (Leslie), Jessica (Mike), Stephanie, Chad, Megan (Aaron), Nicole, Jesse, Justin, Kyle, and Hunter; 13 great grandchildren; and a very special grand-dog, “Baby” Sadie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack and Robert Oren; and a sister, Barbara Miles.

A Celebration of Janet’s life will be held at her house, 1427 St. George Ln., Janesville, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
