James "Rock 'N' Roll" Lowell

August 19, 1951 - February 26, 2012 James David "Rock 'n Roll" Lowell Sr., age 60, of Janesville, WI, died Sunday morning, Feb. 26, 2012, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville. Rock was born on Aug. 19, 1951, in Appleton, WI, the son of Mark and Helen (Benson) Lowell. He graduated in 1970 from Parker High School in Janesville and then worked at SSI and Lab Safety for many years. Rock was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also loved spending time with his friends and family. Rock will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include his son, James D. (Melisa) Lowell Jr. of Janesville; his daughter, Jennifer Seele of Belvidere, IL; grandchildren: Abigail and Paige Lowell, and Alexandra Seele; brothers and sisters: Mark Lowell of Boston, MA, Michael Lowell of Brooklyn, WI, John Lowell of Salt Lake City, UT, Barb Gribble of Gordon, WI, and Sara Lowell of Ann Arbor, MI. Rock was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1618 E. Racine St., Janesville, with a Video Tribute presented at 6 p.m. Immediately following the service, there will be a gathering at Legends Tavern, 11 N. Main St., Janesville.
