James L. Hager

Janesville James Leroy Hager, age 70, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, August 5, 2016. He was born June, 04, 1946 in Janesville, WI to Harold and Emma (Sommerfeldt) Hager. He married Kathleen Balas in 1969 at St. Patricks Church in Janesville. Jim was a welder for Gilman Manufacturing for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jim spent many hours shooting at the Delavan Gun club. He always had a story to tell about growing up in Janesville or the pranks he played at Gilman. Jim loved spending time with his family and especially his grandson, Ryan. James is survived by his wife Kathleen, and, two sons: John Hager, of Beloit, WI and Jason Hager of Janesville, WI; his adopted son, Jarid Shallenberger of Janesville, WI; and his grandson, Ryan. He is further survived by many friends, as well as the family dog, Lady. He is preceded in death by his parents, his children: Justin Hager and Samantha Hager; and his brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm., Thursday, August 11, 2016 at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 1618 E. Racine St., Janesville, WI. In honor of Jims relaxed nature, casual attire is suggested.
