James “Jim” Weasler a lifelong resident of Aurora, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on December 13, 2009 in Madison, Wisconsin surrounded by loving family. Jim was born September 5, 1923 in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He married the love of his life, Eleanore Mary Franck in 1943. Jim proudly served his country during World War II in the US Army Signal Service Group in the South West Pacific campaign. After the war, he and Eleanore settled in the family home in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside in Aurora and raised their four children; David (Dorothy) Weasler, Shawano, WI; Christopher (Mary) Weasler, Wausau, WI; Victoria (George) Weasler Kulczewski, Belleville , WI; and Jesse (Terry) Weasler, Gladstone, MI. Eleanore and Jim had 8 grandchildren; Darron (Alison) Weasler, St. Charles, IL; Christy (Greg) Weasler Seaholm, Madison, WI; Damon (Heather) Weasler, Blanchardville, WI; Paul (Michelle) Weasler, Wausau, WI; Jennifer (Eric) Farnsworth, Marquette, MI; Adam (Natalie) Weasler, Sun Prairie, WI; Luke Weasler, Austin, TX; Dru Weasler, Shawano, WI and 11 great-grandchildren. During the past 16 years, Jim was blessed with the companionship of his dear friend, Corlinda “Corky” Newingham of Aurora. Jim worked for 33 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iron Mountain, Michigan before retiring in 1983. He was preceded in death in 1989 by his beloved wife Eleanore. He was a member of the Immanual Baptist Church of Kingsford, Michigan. Jim was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly. A celebration of his life is being planned for a later date.
