James Glynn

MADISON – James Glynn, age 83 of Madison, passed into eternal life on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 at the Ellen and Peter Johnson HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. He was born Aug. 9, 1925 in Madison, the son of James and Jane Ann (Lester) Glynn. Jim served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married the former Joy Charbonneau on December 21 1963 in Superior, Wis. Jim worked for several years as a union painter, and retired from Ohmeda “Ohio Medical Corp.” in 1987. Jim enjoyed playing cards, watching old western movies, and collecting eagle memorabilia. He is survived by his wife Joy; two sons, Patrick (Tina) Glynn, of Kankakee, Ill., and Jeffrey Glynn; a brother, George (Mary A) Glynn, of Madison; a sister, Gwen Sorenson, of Madison; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. A special thanks to Bob and Debbie Nasett, who have provided so much comfort and support over the years, especially during this difficult time. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and five siblings, Harold, Jane, Jackie, Daniel and Donald. A memorial service will be held at OUR SAVIOUR’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1201 Droster Rd., Madison, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bradley Homan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Jim’s name to the Ellen & Peter Johnson HospiceCare Center, 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy., Madison, WI 53711 or Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
