James C. Riggs

JANESVILLE/YUMA AZ. James Cheatham Riggs, age 80, passed away at Agrace Hospice and Palliative Care Center on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. He was born October 27, 1935 in New York to James and Gladys (Peterson) Riggs. He married Henrietta Moeller on May 10, 1958. James was an electrician for Beloit Corporation; retiring in 1995. James was always active. He enjoyed target shooting, hunting, motorcycle riding and snowmobiling. James spent many hours geocaching and scuba diving. Most of all, he loved to travel. He was a past member of the Beloit Moose Club and a lifetime member of the NRA. James is survived by his son Randy Riggs, his daughters; Terri Riggs and Ronda Riggs, and, his brother, Tom Riggs, as well as his grandchildren; Melissa, Sara, Nikita, Quin and Jordan. He is further survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and also many friends in Wisconsin and Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his daughter, Sue Brey. A Memorial Luncheon to celebrate James life will be held at Town of Rock Hall, 5102 S. County Road D, Afton, WI on October 8th, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
