J. Ione Ziemet

MADISON – J. Ione Ziemet, age 73 of Madison, passed away on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. Ione was born March 31, 1937 at home in Briggsville, Wis., the daughter of Clark and Jennie (Hindes) Van Schoyck. She graduated from Portage High School. Ione married James Ziemet, in 1977 at the Courthouse in Sparta, Wis. by the Honorable AJ Wright. She worked for 25 years at the State Historical Society in Madison. She was very fond of animals, especially her cats, gardening, and rug hooking while watching her soap opera’s. She is survived by her husband, James; daughter, Cynthia, of Madison; two grandchildren, Tiana and Alia; two sisters, Wilma Parrott, of Briggsville and Maxine Doepke, of Silver Lake; and a brother, Erwin Van Schoyck, of Portage; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eleanor Jensen; and a brother, Ira Van Schoyck. A memorial gathering will take place at POYNETTE VILLAGE HALL, 106 S. Main St., Poynette, on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
