Hilda H. Kastorff

Kastorff, Hilda H. STOUGHTON/FOND DU LAC - Hilda Kastorff, age 90 passed away on Tues. Jan.14, 2009. Hilda was born on Nov. 8, 1918 in Unity, Wis., to Fredrich and Katharina Weller. She grew up on the family dairy farm and graduated from high school in Colby, WI. Hilda completed 2 years of college and continued her education throughout her life, always interested in bettering herself and helping others. Hilda moved to Fond du Lac, to work, and met her future husband, John Kastorff, while singing in the church choir. They lived in Fond du Lac with their three children until John retired and they moved to Big McKenzie Lake near Spooner. In 1991 they moved to Stoughton, where they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1993. Hilda Kastorff was a woman small in stature but mighty in spirit, with a deep, abiding faith in God. She lived an active life, and her home was always filled with wonderful baked goods that she loved to share with family and friends. Hilda loved to entertain and was not afraid to try new things. She was active in church organizations and also gave of herself in service to others, especially the elderly. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her sisters Elsie Weller and Dorothy Ryberg. She is survived by her sister Erna Hoffman of Wausau, and a brother George and his wife Loretta of Colby; three children, Jack (Joan) Kastorff, of Carmichael, CA; Linda Rugheimer of Kalispell, MT and Gary (Sandy) Kastorff of Monona. Hilda loved and enjoyed each of her six grandchildren; Jodi, Jeffrey, Colleen, Sarah, Gina, and Joel. Funeral services will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Road, Madison, on Wed., Jan. 21, 2009 at 12:30 pm. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tues. Jan. 20, 2009, from 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm and on Wed., from 11 am until the time of service.
