MARSHALL - Herbert C. "Jim" Desnoyers, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015. He was born in DePere, Wis., on Feb. 13, 1923, the eldest child of Francis "Bob" and Herberta (Jones) Desnoyers. After graduating from DePere High School in 1941, he joined the U.S. Navy. He married Mary "Betty" (Brennan) Desnoyers on Nov. 20, 1946, in DePere. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he joined the U.S. Air Force. They lived and traveled throughout the United States and world, including Air Force bases in Texas and the Azores islands, as well as Hamilton Air Force base in San Rafael, Calif. They settled in Marshall, Wis., in 1963, where they raised son, Dan. He worked for many years as a radio technician with the Wisconsin State Patrol. He was an electronics expert, amateur radio operator, avid reader and fan of the Green Bay Packers. He touched many lives with his quiet strength, kindness and generosity. He is survived by his adoring grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and his dear friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary; infant son, Richard; infant daughter, Herberta; adopted son, Dan; father, Francis; mother, Herberta; stepmother, Maude (Lee) Desnoyers; and brother, Francis "Pete".
