Henry “Hank” “Dick” Leon Spafford Died March 4, 2007 Thompsonville, formerly of Janesville, WI, Hank L. Spafford, 74, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his home. He was born in Janesville, WI on February 16, 1933 the son of Dwight D. and Louise M. (Vogel) Spafford. Hank served in the Korean War in the US Army Security Agency. He graduated from Frankfort High School in 1951. In Frankfort he had the father and son business Spafford’s Well Drilling and he owned and operated Frankfort Sinclair Service Station. While in Janesville, WI he was employed with General Motors and Sears Roebuck sales and management. Hank was previously married to Peg (Wuerthele) on June 22, 1957 in Frankfort, MI and together they raised 4 children, Kathy (Paul) Strommen, Ron (Joan) Spafford, Mike Spafford and Mary McNatt. He has 3 grandchildren, Brian and Kelly Strommen and Brittany Spafford and also one great granddaughter, Aurora Strommen. All his children and their families reside in Janesville, WI. Hank also left behind sisters, Etta Mae (Mel Pierce) and Thelma (Charles) Novak, all of Frankfort, Mi. Hank will be missed be a very special friend, Marge Bauman of Bear Lake, MI. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday March 10, 2007 at the All Faiths Funeral Home 618 E. Racine St, Janesville. The Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service. Pastor Larry Kula will officiate In lieu of flowers, Hank has requested that memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or World Vision. Brian Hansen of Hansen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
