Helen M. O'Brien

Janesville-Helen M O’Brien, age 74 , passed away June 10, 2009 at home in Afton. She was born July 6, 1934 in Stoughton, Wisconsin the daughter of Harold and Marion (Stark) Stavik. Helen began her life as fighter only weighing 1’ 7 oz’s known in Stoughton hospital as the incubator baby. On November 27, 1953 she married John O’Brien in Dubuque, IA. She was a charter employee at the K-Mart in Janesville. Together John and Helen owned and operated the O’Brien’s Tavern for twenty years. She was a member of the T.O.P.S for many years. She enjoyed her many trips to Las Vegas and spending time with her family, friends and her beloved dogs. Helen is survived by her three sons, Bruce (Joanne) O’Brien, of Janesville, WI; Mathew (Ellen) O’Brien, of Janesville, WI; Steven O’Brien of Janesville, WI; one grandson Wyatt O’Brien on active duty in the United States Army. She is preceded by her parents, her husband John and one daughter Debbie. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, June 15, 2009 at the All Faiths Funeral Chapel 1618 E.
