Marshall - Helen L. Hensen, age 96, a resident of Marshall since 1949, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam, WI. She was born August 20, 1915 in Marxville, WI the daughter of Hardy and Theresa (Theis) Lochner. She married John Hensen on October 30, 1935 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Madison, Wisconsin. He passed away on December 25, 1968. She later married Werner Kessenich on April 2, 1982 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshall, Wisconsin. He passed away April 22, 1997. Helen enjoyed singing in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Choir, and enjoyed entertaining residents in area nursing homes. She was previously a member of the Sun Prairie Colonial Club Kitchen Band. Helen will also be fondly remembered for her love of playing cards and dancing. Helen is survived by her children Gerald (Carol) Hensen, of St. Germain, WI; Jack (Dawn) Hensen of Sun Prairie, WI; Richard (Mary) Hensen, of Marshall, WI; Paul (Chanda) Hensen, of Galesburg, IL; Carolyn (Allen) Ciciva,of Marshall, WI; Earl (Mary) Hensen, of Marshall, WI; Bill (Vesta) Hensen, of Valparaiso, IN; one sister Betty Evans, of Deforest, WI; 2 sisters in law, Marion Hensen, Charlotte Lochner, 25 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Daniel, 3 brothers and two sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at HOLY FAMILY PARISH/MARSHALL CAMPUS, 120 S. Beebe St., Marshall. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Memorial may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or a charities of ones choosing.
